Dr. M. Grace (Schissler) Hussey, was a very important M. D. in Massachusetts. She was born in Ohio on 20 May 1913. She received the B.S. Degree from the University of Toledo, Ohio in 1933. She received the M.D. degree from the Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1938.
Her parents, Charles S. Schissler and Kathryn B. Carlot were also born in Ohio as were their parents, according to what they reported in the 1930 Federal Census for Toledo, Ohio. At that time, Charles was 47, Catherine (as spelled by the census taker?) was 44, and Mae was 16. Charles was a street car motorman. When Grace died in 1985, she was 71 years old, and the Quincy, Massachusetts city health commissioner. Before that, she worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for 30 years. She had a private practice from 1940 to 1951.
Grace had a daughter, Dr. Kathryn S. Evers of Hillsboro, OR, and a son, Daniel S. Hussey of Las Vegas, NV.
