Oral family history holds that Burgess Scoggins married Rebecca, knowing she was already pregnant by another man (an American Indian, it is said). She was 4 or 5 months along at the time of their marriage, and bore James P. Scoggins. I would be interested in using DNA to prove/disprove Burgess as the father of James P. --E. Weatherall 6/28/2018
