Biography

Albert Eugene Sears, son of Martin Luther Sears and Mary Ellen (Bull) Sears, was born on 17 January 1866 at New Lenox, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.^[1]

He married Cora Stella Hagey, daughter of John Hagey and Susan M. “Melvina” (O'Dell) Hagey,^[1]

Albert died on 29 January 1953 at Fall City, King County, Washington and was buried at Westerville Cemetery, Westerville, Custer County, Nebraska. His memorial has a photo and links to those of family members.^[1]

Judith Sears Allen research="Albert, my grandfather was widowed the year I was born, and thereafter lived with family members, first his son Fred and then his daughter Mary Ruth (called Ruth by the family). He spent several weeks at a time with us, and my mother spent a lot of time talking to him about the family. So she probably knows more about the Sears family than anyone else. He told great stories (i.e. when he owned a gold mine for 45 minutes) and I was never sure just what was true, but of course, she could tell. I believe Albert made one trip back to Lenox perhaps when one of the family died. Uncle Jim journeyed to Nebraska (where Albert Sears family had moved) to visit for quite a long period of time in the 1900's. He died in Nebraska and was buried in Madison Square Cemetery near Sargent. My father, Hubert, talked about him and his visit, although Hubert must have been very young at the time.
