Margaret (Seddon) Mather was born in Preston, Lancashire, England.

Margaret Seddon was born in 1854 ^[1] in Preston, Lancashire, England, the daughter of Richard Seddon and Ann (Wareing) Seddon.^[2]

In 1871 Margaret was in Gladstone Street, Warrington with her mother and brother. Her sister Alice (Seddon) Mather had died 6 months earlier and Margaret and her mother were supporting her brother-in-law John Mather with his baby daughter. ^[3]

The following year, when Margaret was about 19 she married the same John Mather on 30 March 1872 in St Phillip's church, Salford, Lancashire. ^[4]

In 1881 Margaret was living in Tanners Lane, Warrington, with her husband and 3 children. Her husband was a plasterer. ^[2]

In 1901 Margaret was living with her husband and 4 children in Winwick Road, Warrington. Her husband was a tanner. ^[5]
