When George was about 20 he married Emma Schofield on 26 June 1866 in the church of St Saviour, Southwark, London. [4]
In 1871 George was living with his wife and 3 children in Woolwich, Kent. He was a 'thick iron and steel wire drawer'. [5]
George returned to his home town. In 1881 he was living with his wife and 2 children in Gandy Street, Warrington. George's younger sister Sarah was their housekeeper. [6]
