Local Resident's Father Passes Away in Scobey
Stanley Settera, 90, passed away Jan 20 at Scobey. Mr. Settera had spent several months with a son, George in Columbia Falls before returning to Scobey on January 5. Other survivors include seven daughters and three sons.

Remains of Peerless Pioneer Are Laid to Rest at Wilbaux
Catholic services at St. Phillip's church in Scobey were performed here Tuesday morning by the Rev. A.P. Sorger for Stanley John Settera, 90, who came to America in 1880 from Poland, and from 1915 until 1941 was a farmer in the Horse Shoe Basin community northwest of Peerless.
Seven years ago he retired from farming due to ill health and for much of the time previous to and including his last illness, he was a resident patient at the Scobey Clinic hospital. He passed away Jan. 20.
The deceased came to America at the age of 21. Six years later he married Miss Sarah Potick at St. Cloud, Minn. They moved later to Little Falls and in 1910 to Wibaux. Mrs. Settera passed away in July, 1915, after bringing 14 children into this world, two sons and one daughter preceded their father in death.
Those surviving are Mrs. Marie Farmer of Sacramento, John Settera of Richland, Mrs. N.A. Teske of Superior, Wisconsin, Mrs. Frank Michels of Beach, N.D. Mrs. Don Eayers of Creston, Mont., Ed Settera of San Francisco, George of Columbia Falls, Mont. Mrs. Chet Baldry and Mrs. Clifford Eayrs of Peerless, Jose Settera of Stockso, Calif., and Mrs. Elmer Brodine of F??r, Idaho. Two brothers of the deceased, Laurence of Oregon City and John of Billings, also survive, in addition to 31 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Remains of the deceased are to be placed beside his wife in..(cutoff, not available).
