Biography
Elizabeth was born in 1775. She is the daughter of Elias Seymour and Elizabeth Wolcott.
Research notes
Elizabeth was "b. 19 Sep 1775, m. after 1821 ________ Hammond of Avon, NY."[1]
Her gravestone read "Elizabeth, wife of Rufus Hammond and daughter of Elias Seymour, died July 11th 1852, aged 77."[2] As of 3 Dec 2022, the data base information incorrectly listed her birth as 1824 in Connecticut.
In 1850 a Seth Beckwith (55, b. CT, farmer) headed an Avon, NY (Livingston County) household with Mary Beckwith (20, b. NY), Elizabeth Hammond (75, b. CT), Jeremiah Beckwith (17, b. NY), Clarissa Godfrey (20, b. NY), Patrick McHardy (30, b. Ireland, laborer). Seth Beckwith was her brother-in-law as he had married younger sister Thankful. After Thankful's death he married Polly Hammond. Was Polly Hammond any relation to Elizabeth?
