George, son of Robert Hugh Shade & Mary Josephine Shade Quinn, was born on 1 June 1877 in Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.^[1]

In the 1901 census George (age 23) was the son of Robert Hugh Shade in South Manchester, Lancashire, England.^[2]

George's marriage to Clare Elizabeth Hilton was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1908 in the Chorlton district.^[3]

In the 1911 census George (age 33), Salesman, Drapery, was the married head of household at 35 Albemarle St Moss Side Manchester, South Manchester, England.^[4]
