Samuel F. Sharp, a 73-year-old retired railroad carpenter who resided on Greenville, route four, died Thursday at 3:45 p. m. at the Union City hospital following a seven weeks' illness from heart trouble. His condition was serious for the past two weeks.
Mr. Sharp had spent practically all of his life in the Union City community. He was born on June 9, 1875 in Randolph county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Seighnann-Sharp and received his education in Darke county schools.
In 1897 at Greenville he was married to Georgietta Mooney, whose death occurred many years ago. In August of 1935 he was married to Myrtle DeBolt. Her death occurred in October, 1948.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. A. C. McGreevy, Greenville, route four; two sons, Marion F. and Francis L. Sharp, both of Dayton; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Tina Bitter, Muncie; four brothers, D. O. Sharp, Union City, route one; Oscar T., of Greenville; Wesley, Gettysburg, O, and Fred, of Cleveland, and one step-brother, Walter Anderson, Rossburg.
The body was removed to Fraze funeral home in Union City where friends may call after noon Saturday.
Services will be held at 1:30 p. m. (EST) Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. Earl Lantz will officiate, with burial in New Lisbon cemetery (Note: His mother's last name was mispelled in the obituary and should have been Siegmunt.)
