Biography

Jane Shaw was christened on 22 Mar 1818 at Prescot St Mary's. She was the daughter of James and Martha Shaw. Her father's occupation was recorded in the christening record as bowker, and the family's address as Whiston.

Jane's mother died in 1830, aged 49. She was buried on 16 Nov 1830 at Prescot St Mary's. Her address was recorded as Eccleston.

By June 6th 1841, Jane was living in Prescot with her father.

Jane married John Chadwick on 2 Jun 1850 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot. Both were above age (21 or more) and lived in Prescot, and neither had been married before. Their fathers were named as John Chadwick (sawyer) and James Shaw (bleacher). The witnesses were Thomas Shaw and Ellen Simms.
