Elizabeth (Shaw) Nicholls was born in Appleton, Cheshire, England.
Elizabeth Shaw was born in 1826 in Appleton, Cheshire, England, [1] the daughter of Thomas Shaw, a flatman. [2]
When Elizabeth was about 17 she married Isaac Nicholls, a flatman, on 11 December 1843 in Liverpool, Lancashire. [2] The couple had at least 5 children. Her husband was on vessels the night of the 1851, 1861 and 1871 censuses.
In 1851 Elizabeth was at home with 3 sons in Stockton Heath, Cheshire.[3]
In 1861 Elizabeth was living with 3 children in Red Lane, Walton, Cheshire.[4]
In 1871 Elizabeth was living with 4 children in St Thomas' Place, Stockton Heath. [1]
In 1881 Elizabeth was living with her husband (who was out of work) and 2 children in Bostock Street, Stockton Heath. [5]
