Ellen (Shelley) Bourke was born in Ireland.
Ellen (Shelley) Bourke came free to the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Ellen (Shelley) Bourke was born in 1826 in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Her mother was Johanna (Dooley) Shelley (~1804 - 1867).
Her brother was William Shelley (~1811 - <1885).
Ellen married John Bourke (1821 - 1912) in 1849 in Roscrea, County Tipperary.[1]
Their daughter was Ellen Bourke (1860 - ).
John Bourke arrived in Sydney on 31 Oct 1854 onboard the "Patrician", age 30 yrs, a general labourer. Ellen accompanied him, aged 30 yrs, and their son Patrick aged 2yrs. Also on board was Ellen's mother Judith Shelley (nee Dooley), age stated as 50 yrs, a widow. Judith's occupation was as a nurse, and she was from Barony Roscrea, Tipperary. [citation needed]
Ellen died 27 Mar 1884 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia aged 58.[2]
