Gertrude Eva Sherman was born on 31 May 1909 in Long Island, Blue Hill, Hancock, Maine, United States, daughter of Lawrence Sherman (1885 - 1954) and Laura Belle (Cole) Sherman (1891 - 1967).
Gertrude died on 12 May 1988[1][2]in Brooklin, Hancock, Maine aged 78. She is buried in Mount Ephraim Cemetery, Brooklin, Maine.
