Jane was born about 1823. She was the daughter of Unknown Shield.

Jane Shield, aged 68, died in Landis, Cumberland County, New Jersey 22 May 1894.^[1]

Left bequests in will to Catherine Shield, now of Vineland, John P. Ashworth, of Vineland, L? or S? Frank Dodd or Dadd? and William P. Shields of Littleburn Colliery, Durham, England. Dated 8 October 1890.^[2]
