Biography

Per biography on memorial:

"Delilah was born March 14, 1841, in Indiana, daughter of W. J. and Eysie Schields, born in Tennessee and Virginia, respectively. She died June 16, 1903, in Clinton Twp., Barron County, aged 62 years, 3 months and 2 days, and was buried in Wayside Cemetery. She was buried next to her husband although no gravestone was noted for her next to the gravestone of her husband. On Oct. 10, 1858 Delilah was united in marriage to Thomas Turner, at Belle Center, Crawford Co., Wis. Thomas's date of birth is uncertain. According to the 1900 U.S. Census, he was born in March 1821, in Ohio, son of parents also born in that state; in about 1826, according to his enlistment records and the 1880 U.S. Census, and in 1819 according to his obituary. He died Dec. 2, 1903, at his home in the town of Clinton, Barron County, and was buried in Wayside Cemetery, probably besides the remains of his second wife. Their children, all born in Wisconsin, were: Benjamin Frank, b. 31 Jul 1859; Samuel A., b. 23 Mar 1862; William J., b. 2 Dec 1865; Albert E., b. 9 Mar 1868; Walter Ted, b. 6 Aug 1873; & Avah Elsie, b. 18 Oct 1878."
