Research Notes
Not the same person as Thomas Shirlow of Gortalowry, Derryloran, County Tyrone.
James Shirlow of Dunmore had a brother John who died a bachelor age 40 in 1885 in Ireland, while there was another John Shirlow son of Thomas of of Gortalowry who married and moved to Australia.
Death "before 1864" is based on no death record in the civil registration. However it's also possible that he emigrated like his children.
Ancestry Record 5164 #764687106 - another couple Charles Funnell & Isabella Shirlow, of Pennsylvania. Have a child born 2-19-1894 died 2-18-1864 (one must be a typo...)
