Herbert Bronson Shonk was born on May 18, 1916 in Scarsdale, Westchester County, New York, USA. He was the son of Herbert Shonk and Sarah Knight.
He served with the United States Naval Reserve Force as a Lieutenant Junior Grade and naval pilot with Carrier Group 11 during World War II.
Bronson went Missing in Action on March 25, 1943 (aged 26) At Sea when he was involved in a mid-air collision.
