Fred was born in 1852 in Denmark, as Frederik Siemsen. As a young man he immigrated to Iowa. He became a naturalized citizen 17 Oct 1882. At some point the last name was changed to Simonson. He married Karen Hansen (or Christianson) and had 8 children. Frederick and Karen and some of the children moved to Oregon between 1900 and 1910. Son Christian joined with his wife Coral and their children in about 1920. They farmed west of McMinnville. Fred passed away in 1925.
