Ole was born on 18 December 1828 at Hegna under Store-Helgen, Helgen.[1] He was the son of Simon Larsen Lille-Helgen / Hegna and Ellen Tollefsdatter.[1]
He married Ingeborg Kirstine Hansdatter (daughter of Hans Sørensen Hustvetkaasa / Sti and Anne Pedersdatter) on 17 November 1854 in Solum.[2]
