Biography
Ruth, daughter of Daize Skilton & Ruth Skilton, was born on 16 October 1777 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.[1] Her father's given name appears as Daize, Daze, or Daaze in various records.
Ruth married William Kendall on 8 June 1797 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States.[2] Many town records document the births and marriages of their children. Some are referenced in William's profile.
Ruth's only U. S. census record was in 1850 at age 72. She lived with the family of her daughter Ruth, now Ruth H. Ward.[3]
Ruth's death is shown online as 18 Feb 1857 at FamilySearch and 11 Feb 1852 at Ancestry , but with no source.
Research Notes
Another Ruth Skelton was born 1778 in Woburn. Her parents were Thomas and Elizabeth (not Daize and Ruth) and her married name was Cummings. She seem to be the source of the 11 Feb 1852 date of death at Ancestry. This makes the 1857 date of death the best estimate for now, but it cannot be trusted without a better source.
