Biography

Charles George Smith was born on 17th May 1911 at Woollahra, New South Wales, Australia. He was the older son of George Smith and Una Trumper.[1] He was a nephew of Victor Trumper, the great Australian cricketer. Charles was educated at Chatswood Public School, where he participated in such sports as swimming, tennis and rugby and was also a member of the Chatswood Wolf Cub Pack.

He married Enid Whitehead in 1937 at Manly, New South Wales.[2]

Charles Smith is a Military Veteran.
Served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force 1940-1945
8th Australian Division Ammunition Park

He enlisted on 18th July 1940 in the Second Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the Second World War.[3] He was a junior officer in the 8th Australian Division Ammunition Park Company. He was discharged on 17th October 1945.

He passed away in 1980 at New South Wales.[4]
