Biography
Harriet Smith was born in 1829 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, England to William Smith and Elizabeth (Smith) Smith - she was christened on 2 Jul 1829 at St James in Dursley.[1]
In 1841 Harriet Smith (age 12) lived at Hunger Hill in Dursley with her father William (60-64, Pensioner) and three siblings: Mary (14), Sidney (8), and Eliza (3).[2]
In 1851 Harriet Smith (age 22, House Servant) lived at Parsonage Street in Dursley in the household of her employer Edmond Goodrich.[3]
Harriet Smith (age 30, Spinster, Servant, daughter of William Smith, Soldier) and John Peters (age 25, Bachelor, Labourer, son of Philip Peters, Labourer) were married on 21 Jun 1859 at St Peter's in Upper Beeding - the witnesses were Daniel Peters & Mary Ann Smith.[4] The marriage was registered in Steyning, Sussex in the second quarter of the year.[5]
In 1861 Harriot Peters (age 32) lived at High Street in Upper Beeding with her husband John (27, Groom & Gardener) and daughter Harriot (8 months).[6]
Harriet Peters passed away in 1866, aged 37 years. Her death was registered in Steyning in the last quarter of the year.[7] She was buried at St Andrew's Church in Steyning on 22 Oct 1866.[8]
