Benjamin Smith was born about 1752/53 and was christened on 18 January 1753 at St. Alkmund’s Church, Derby, Derbyshire, the son of Thomas and Mary Smith[1]
Marriage
Benjamin Smith, of Kedleston, Derbyshire married Anne Sowter, Quarndon, Derbyshire, on 23 October 1776 at All Saints Church, Kedleston, Derbyshire[2]. The Parish Register records Benjamin’s occupation as being “Cook to the Rt. Hon. Lord Scarsdale”
Death
Benjamin Smith passed away on 21 May 1815[3] and was buried in Kedleston, Derbyshire on 24 May 1815[4]
