Biography

On 1 January 1890 married Allan Eby (19 September 1864 to 9 August 1892) in Woolwich Township, Ontario. Two children from her first marriage - Clayton Eby born 26 November 1890 and killed accidentally in Michigan in 1939, and brother Allan Leslie Eby born 19 April 1893 (after the death of his father) died 19 April 1985. Remarkably, her husband was killed by lightning on the same day as her sister Lydia's husband was killed by lightning (see the profile of Lydia's husband for more information). She and her sister then moved in with her mother at St. Jacobs, Ontario. Like her sister Lydia, she married a second husband - Benjamin Keller (1853 to 1923) on 18 March 1898 in Waterloo County, Ontario. Clara and Benjamin then moved to Michigan (no other children from second marriage known).
