Earl Amos Knapp Snowdon was born on 18 Dec 1907 in Wood Point, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Amos Pickering Snowden Jr. (1874 - 1948) and Edith Jane (McKinnon) Snowden (1869 - 1941).

Earl (22) married Dorothy Louise Wheaton (20) (born in Sackville, Westmorland on 12 Jul 1910; died in Sackville on 19 Apr 1962), daughter of Seward Edward Wheaton and May Ashley Bowser, on 3 Sep 1930 in Sackville. Their children were:
