Jean M. (Sohnleitner) Fleming, 86, of York, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Fleming and of the late Gorman L. Zumbrum.
Mrs. Fleming was born December 31, 1922, in York, and was the daughter of the late John and Edna (Harkins) Sohnleitner. She worked in upholstery with Thonet Home Furniture for 25 years, was a member of the Family Worship Center Foursquare, and was a crossing guard at the former Betsy Ross Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and family picnics.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by a daughter, Cathleen J. LeRendu of York; two sons, Gorman L. "Butch" Zumbrum and wife, Patricia of York, and Gordon E. Fleming and wife, Gloria of Dallastown; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Tammy, Dawn, Judi, Tiffany, Wade, Michael, Brian, Matthew, and Cassandra; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Sohnleitner of York; and a niece, Linda Rang, whom she raised. She was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Burial will follow the service in Mount Rose Cemetery.
