William (Wasal) Soltys was born in April 1906 in Goodeve, Saskatchewan, his father, Stephen, (Steffan) Soltys and his mother, Eva ( Vouka), . He married Katherine "Kay" Chlan in Goodeve Saskatchewan. He died in 1985 in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 79.
