Donna N. Jung, 91, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.

Donna Nadine Jung was born on January 9, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Mina (Fink) and Fred Sommer. She attended school in Waterloo, and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1944.

On August 11, 1946, Donna was united in marriage to Dale Claude Jung in Waterloo, Iowa. The couple made their home in Waterloo, until relocating to Waverly in 1959.

Donna was a homemaker, she also worked as a sales associate for Schultz's Family Store and worked at Happy Time Pre-school in Waverly.

Donna was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed playing bridge and going out for lunch.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Diane (Duane) Harms of Shell Rock, Iowa; son, Daryl Jung of Waverly, Iowa; two grandchildren, Dawn (John) Scheneman, and Dana (Jim Robinson) Harms; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Allie and Evan Scheneman, and Caleb Robinson; brother, Dennis (Bonnie) Summer of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, in August of 2016; her parents; a grandson, Douglas Harms; and sister, Deloris Hummel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Good Shepherd Chapel -- Bartels, Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Sandra Burroughs officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the Good Shepherd Chapel -- Bartels. Burial will be held in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly.

Memorial may be directed to Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community.
