1884 - John Shortt Jnr of 17 Belgrave Square Dublin, advertising Grass farms to let. Queens County and County Kilkenny, the property of the late Robert Owen, Rathpatrick about 152 Irish acres, Moneymore about 260 Irish acres. Also land of Belmont 133 Acres.

1886 - Shortt and Falkner - June 23rd, at St Paul's Church, Glenageary, Kingstown, County Dublin, by the Rev G.W. Dalton, D.D. Joseph H A Shortt, B.A. T.C.D. Solicitor, 3rd son of John Shortt, No. 17 Belgrave Square, East Rathmines, to Emily Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Francis Falkner, St Kilda, Sandy Cove, Kingstown.

1890 - John Shortt Jnr, 17 Belgrave Square, won a prize for a horse in a show. "Class XIII, Four year old fillies, 12 st to 13 st 7lbs, Prussia's pride, 3rd prize."

1893 - Deaths, Russell at her residence 17 Belgrave Square, Monkstown? County Dublin, Elizabeth Esther Russell, daughter of the 4th Viscount Harberton and widow of the late Rev Cecil Russell, rector of Druncree county Meath.

1897 - "SHORTT--EDOLS. -On the 21st April, at Burryjaa Church by the Rev. W. C. Hose, William, third son of John Shortt, barrister-at-law, of Belgrave square, Dublin, and Cappagolan, King's County, Ireland, to Violet, only daughter of the late Richard"

1901- October 16th John Shortt died aged 88 at 17 Belgrave Square, Dublin.

1911- Census record. Those residing at 17 Belgrave Square. Charlotte Shortt (nee Owen) (having been widowed in 1901) three of her daughters were residing with her, Alice (Step daughter), Anna Maria and Sarah Ellen (Nellie). Several of her grandchildren were also residing with her: Ada Shortt, Charlotte Jemima Shortt, Hazel Louise Shortt and Charles St John Shortt. Ada and her sister Charlotte Jemima were daughters of Charlotte's late son Robert Owen Shortt who had died in 1903 while employed in Melbourne, Australia. These young women were in fact orphaned as their mother had predeceased their father. Hazel Louise's father Joseph Henry Hely Antisell Shortt was also deceased most likely from suicide in 1906 according to an inquest. Charlotte's grandson Charles was the second son of Charlotte's youngest son Charles and of school age. died at the age of 95.

1911- It was reported regarding a fundraising event held at what used to be St Mark's hospital for the blind. On the variety table, were Miss Littledale and Miss L. Shortt of 17 Belgrave Square, Rathmines.

1924 - Charlotte died at the age of 95.

1925 - Anna Maria Shortt dies aged 73.

1927 - Dr William Shortt returns with his daughter Alice and granddaughter Patti to meet his sisters who were residing at No. 17. Alice and Nellie would most probably be living there at this time.

1932- Alice Shortt died aged 86. 1933- Recent Irish wills, Miss Alice Shortt of 17 Belgrave Square, of Rathmines Dublin who died on October 7th last, left personal estate in England and the Irish Free State of valued at 2,752 pounds.

1934- Nellie Shortt died aged 79.

1946 - Being let as Bed and Breakfast in winter months - Hughes.

It seems most likely that the last Shortt residing here was Nellie Shortt who died in 1934.

In 2017 this homestead remains.
