Alte Post / Wirtshof zum Adler / Posthof originally was a post station on the imperial Thurn and Taxis post line from Ensisheim (Alsace) to Innsbruck in Austria.

Posthof was mentioned in the oldest land records of the area from 1446 already. The farm building that was built in 1566 burned down on 23 February 1910, caused by flying sparks from a locomotive. It was replaced by an economy building.

Today's main building was built as inn "Wirtshof zum Adler - Alte Post" from 1802 to 1804. Since 1939 it is not used as inn anymore.

People

Since the middle of the 17th century, Posthof is owned by the Hensler family, starting with Christian Hensler.

In 1875, August Steurenthaler (1875-1954) was leaseholder there.
