Bear Canon Cemetery is located at 397 South Perry Park Road, Sedalia, CO 80135. Saint Philip-in-the-field Episcopal Church is surrounded by the cemetery. It is located in a rural setting surrounded by small ranches and West Plum Creek with an excellent view of the Rocky Mountains.

Saint Philip-in-the-field Episcopal Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1872 with the aid of early settlers such as the Grout, Curtis, James and Smith families. In 1887, an Episcopal Mission in Bergen Park, Colorado was traded for this church by Bishop William Spaulding. In 1889, renovations were complete and the church was consecrated under its current name.

The earliest burials were in 1872. Veterans from the Civil War through current time are buried here.

The project for this cemetery was started in April, 2019. The project goals are stated below.

1) Create a profile for every person buried at Bear Canon Cemetery and categorize them under the Bear Canon Cemetery category. As of May 28, 2019, 300 profiles were listed which represent about 20% of the burials.

2) Connect these profiles with the Global Tree which identifies their connection (via marriage or blood) to English Royalty.

3) Photograph and transcribe headstones and attach them to their profiles.

4) Work with the local historical society and interested family members to add pictures and information to the biography of each profile.
