There is a death record for Belfort in 1827 of an Alexander Brocher, and his daughter Jeanne (I can't read the age - 2 something?) by Catherine Jokom (possibly unmarried). Maybe no relation. ^[1]

The 1881 census for Delle, on the same street and a few doors down from Julie is Jean Jacques Brocher, a proprietaire born abt. 1814. ^[2]
