"The house at 79 Central Avenue was known as the Young House. The family ran the grocery store located in the storefront building at the northeast corner of Central and Pleasant Avenues. Later, they went on to found and operate the Young Fire Equipment Company which eventually was located on Cemetery Road. A descendant, Richard Young, has founded and heads a company called PAC, Inc. located in the old G.C. Murphy store on West Main Street. In addition, he is planning the new Greater Lancaster Museum of Fire Fighting to be located in the same building.(1)

Joseph Pikus, later bought that property and he turned it into a delicatessen and then a Picture frame store.

Traveling South on Central, on the west side of Central is 60 Central Avenue
