The Derry Castle left Birkenhead (Liverpool) in England on 7 February 1853 with 360 passengers including 250 single women.[1] It arrived in Melbourne on 22 May 1853.[2] The remaining passengers were available for hire on 17 June 1853 in Melbourne.[3][4]
