In the name of God amen I Nathaniel Neate of
East Knoyle in the County of Wilts yeoman being very
weake of Body but off Perfect mind and memory (Thanks be
unto Almighty God for the same) do make this my last will
and Testament in Manner and Form hereafter following that
is to say First and Cheifly I commend my Soul into the hands of
Almighty God who gave it me and as For my Body I desire it may
be Buried in a xtian [Christian] like maner in the Chuch or Church yard
in the parish off Chicklarde[7] in the County aforesaid and as for
what worldly Goods I have Pleased almighty God to Bless and to all
I Give and Bequeath as hereafter Specified and Expressed
Imprimis my will and Desire is that my Funeral Expences and my other
Debpts be paid so soon as Convenienly may or can be after my
decease by my Executor in Trust For my Son William Neate a
m[i]nor Whome I doe hereafter nominate and appoint (viz) my
Brother Robert Neate of Wexcombe Farm within the Parish off
Great Bedwin in the County of Wilts and my brother John Neate
off Barton Farm within the Parish of Prishott[8] in the County of Wilts
also who I Earnestly desire to take care soe and do their best
Endeavours together with my Brother James Neate of wook[9]
Farm in the Parish of Preshot adores[ai]d to see this Performed
For the use and Benefitt off my said Son after my s[ai]d debts are paid
and I [...] [...] and after Such [...] faction is made and done itt
is my will thatt all every off my Goods and Chattells shall be in the
Possession of my said Executor in trust ffor my s[ai]d Son William Neate
untill he shall ataine unto the age of one and Twenty years but
if it shall so hapen that my s[ai]d Son do not ataine to the age of
one and twenty years itt is my will that what shall be then Remaining
at the decease of my s[ai]d Son shall be Equaly divided between my own
Brothers and Sisters Share & Shares alike In Wittness here[o]f I
have sett my hand and Seale the Twenty Seventh day of
July one Thousand Seaven hundred Thrity nine
