Purpose

This is a project to locate and document the lives of Stern births in New York City. Vital Records began in earnest in New York City in 1881 enabling this project. The desired outcomes are 1) to document births and associated vital records to assist in tracing ancestors 2) to learn and document the lives of those in this cohort.

Native Surname Studies

Focus on Birth's to determine those who have immigrated as well as those already in the country. Narrow field of candidates by focusing only on New York City natives and descendants with the Stern surname.
