I Phebe Rawzee of Uniontown in Union County Kentucky do hereby make my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows (Towit)—
1st I desire that all my just debts & funeral expenses be paid except such as I shall mention hereafter
2ndly I give to my niece July Ann Bridges late July Ann Wooldridge my negro woman Betty together with her four children slaves for life, viz namely Mary, Jim, George and Fanny also two negro Boys (towit) Harrison and Walker slaves for life, To have and to hold forever—
3rdly I give to my niece Harriet Fightmaster late Harriet Wooldridge my negro Boy named Henry (a slave for life) and also the House in which William Fightmaster now resides, together with the Lot on which it stands with all its appurtenances and also an adjoining Lott the number as designated in the plan of the Town not recollected but will be known on the entire property purchased by one of Dr. F. B. Berry, to her use & benefit forever
4thly as there remains unpaid Five Hundred Dollars on the property I purchased of Dr. F. B. Berry and which I give to Harriet Fightmaster I desire that the same be paid with the following amounts, viz, Three Hundred & Twenty seven Dollars and Fifty cents in the hands of Isham Bridges and for which there has been no note executed the remainder of the hire of my negroes man Jourdon for the Year 1848, now in the hands of John W. Rawzee of Louisville and also the wages for the present Years hire which will become due at the close of the Year.
5thly I desire that the proceeds of the sale of my negro-girl Jane be applied to the payment of a note executed by me to Isham Bridges
6thly I desire at the close of the present year that my negro-man Jourdon be free
7thly & Lastly-I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Isham Bridges Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all others – In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal 10th day of February on thousand eight hundred & forty nine. At a County Court holden for Union County at the Courthouse in Morganfield on the 19th day of March 1849 – This last will and Testament of Phebe Rowzee deceased, was produced in Court and was proven to be the Last Will and Testament of Phebe Rowzee deceased by the oaths of Peter S. January and Weden Wilson the subscribing witnesses hereto and was by the Court ordered to be recorded. Attest James R. Hughes C.U.C.C.
