Probate Inventory
There seems to have been a delay in the processing of the probate, possibly brought about by a business partner who was claiming ownership of some property including slaves. All but four of the slaves were distributed to the widow, sons, son-in-laws, and, in the case of Barnett who was deceased, to his children. The remaining four slaves were sold in April 1866. Which is strange as they should have been free by that point.
