All the information was gathered from pre-internet sources by Jim (Varey-9), my Uncle George (Varey-85), brother Simon (Varey-25) and me. Disconnected pieces of the jigsaw are there because of evidence of a connection. e.g. William (d. 1794) is mentioned as a cousin by Esther (d. 1762) in her will, and for some individuals we have more extensive information, e.g. copies of wills, parish council minutes, oral history (why two sides of our family did not speak for a 100 years) etc. There are still many gaps and unverified entries (e.g. what Aunt Lizzie told me) but it does provide a direct male line from John Varye (sic), although hardly all his descendants. Maternal lines are another story...
