This is the last will & testament of me, EDWARD JOHN VEALE of 28 Cavendish Road Westbury-on-Trym in the City of Bristol Gentleman

1. I hereby revoke all former wills made by me

2. I appoint my Son William George Veale (hereinafter called my trustee) to be the sole Executor and TRUSTEE of this my Will

3. I give to my trustee all my books and old china my grand father clock and my writing desk.

4. I devise & bequeath all my real estate and the residue of my personal estate of which I may die possessed or over which I may have any disposing power at the time of my death unto my trustee his heirs executors administrators and assigns upon trust to sell and convert the same into money (but with full power to postpone such sale and conversion for such time as he shall think proper without being answerable for less) and to stand possessed of the net proceeds of such sale and conversion (hereinafter called my residuary estate) upon trust to invest the same in the purchase or mortgage of freehold property or perpetual rent charges in England or Wales or in any securities authorised by law for the investment of trust funds and to stand possessed of such investments upon the following trusts namely
(a) Upon trust as to two third parts to pay the annual income thereof to my daughter Charlotte Barker during her life and after her death to my grand daughter Ethel Gertrude Barker during her life (and during coverture for her separate use without power of anticipation) and after her death upon trust as to both capital and income for such one or more of the issue immediate or remove of the said Ethel Gertrude Barker born before the expiration of twenty one years after her decease as she may be deed with or without power of revocation and new appointment or by will or codicil appoint. But if there shall be no such issue who shall take a vested interest under the preceding trusts then after the death of the said Ethel Gertrude Barker upon trust for such person or persons as she shall by will or codicil appoint and in default of any such appointment upon trust for my daughter Amy Louisa Wyatt absolutely
(b) And upon trust as to the remaining one third part to pay the annual income thereof to the said Amy Louisa Wyatt during her life (and during coverture for her separate use without power of anticipation) and after her death upon trust as to both capital and income for such person or persons as she shall by will or codicil appoint and in default of any such appointment upon trust for the said Ethel Gertrude Barker absolutely.

5. I empower my trustee or any future trustee of this my will who may be a Solicitor to make the usual professional or other charges for any business done by him or his firm whether in the ordinary course of his profession or not and although not of a nature requiring the employment of a Solicitor.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Sixth day of October 1913 - EDWARD JOHN VEALE - signed by the said EJV as his last will in the presence of us who in his and each other's presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - W. W. Veale Solicitor Bristol - C. J. Thorne his clerk.

On the 28th day of Jul 1915 Probate of this Will was granted to William George Veale the sole executor.
