Jane's will passed probate on 30 June 1655.[1]

This is a transcription of the register office copy of the will of Jane Williams (1609-1655). THe will was written on 31 May 1650 and proved on 30 June 1655.

Anno D[omi]ni 1650 'I Jane Williams of Whetonhurst in the Countie of Glous
spinster being sick in bodie but of good and perfect memorie Thanks be unto
God Doe make and ordeine this my last Will and Testament as followeth

First I comitt my soule into the hands of Allmightie God my Maker and
Jesus Christ my Redeemer by whose merritts and Righteous.... I hope to be
saved etc And as for all my wordly Goods I give and bequeathe as followeth

Item I give and bequeathe unto my brother Richard Williams and
my sister Elizabeth Williams that are in new England each of them twenty
shillings a peece

Item I give and bequeathe unto Beniaminis Williams and
Nathaniell Williams the two sonnes of my brother Samuell Williams tenne
pounds a peece att the age of one and twentie years And if it shall happen
that either of them shall die before they shall accomplish that Age then my
will is that the survivor of them shall have the other part

Item I give and
bequeathe unto John Hall the younger my sisters eldest sonne tenn pounds and
a standing bedsted that is in his fathers parlour Chamber my brother in lawe

Item I give and bequeathe unto Samuell Hall Daniell Hall and
Suzanna Hall the other three children of my brother in lawe John Hall twenty
pounds

pounds a peece att the Age of one and twenty yeares And if it shall happen that
either of them shall die before they accomplish that Age then my Will is that the
surviv[or] or surviv[or]s of them shall have his or theirs part among them equallye
devided

Item my Will is that the said Samuell Hall shall shall have my silver
spoon And moreover

I give and bequeathe to Suzanna Hall my sisters daughter
all my household stuffe and all my wearing clothes except the bedsted afore
bequeathed

Item I give and bequeathe unto my brother in lawe John Hall my
lease of eight hundred yeares of all that Close of pasture called the new leaze
contayning by estimation theree acres be it more or less lyeing in Estington
therewhich I purchased of John Horwood of Estington in the Countie of Glous
to the end that the said lease shall be sold to the Cost Advantage to pay
legacies afore by my said Will bequeathed

Item I appoint and ordeine my
aforesaid brother in lawe John Hall to be the whole and sole Executor of
this my lasy Will and Testament In witnesse hereof I have hereunto
sett my hand and seale the Daie and yeare first above written.Jane
Williams sealed and delivered in the presence of us Charles Farell

This will was proved at London the thirtieth daie of
June in the yeare of our lord God one thousand six hundred fiftie five
before the judges for probate of Wills and granting Administrationes
lawfullyauthorized by the Oathe of John Hall the brother in lawe<b/> of the said deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will towhome the
Administration was comitted of all and singular the Goods Chattles and
Debts of the said deceased he being first sworne by virtue of a Comission
well and faithfullie to administer the same.
