John Browne
In Dei Nomine Amen I John Browne of Midhurst in the County of Sussex Esq being reasonable in health and in perfect remembrance praised be God for it doe Constitute ordeyne & make this my last will & testament in manner and forme as followinge
First I comend my Soule into the hands of God my Maker having assuredlie through the merittes of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be made partake of live everlastinge My body I bequeath to the earth from Whence it came to be buryed in the vault of the Church of Midhurst with my father & others of my kindred & Ancestors
Item I give & bequeath unto my sonne Stanislaus Browne three hundred pounds lawfull English money parte of the money which I lately received for my howse at Chichester To be mayd unto him the said Stanislaus his Executo’rs Administrators or Assignes within the space of three monthes next after my decease by my Executors
Item I give fiftie pounds of lawful English money to be bestowed by my Executors according to such discrecons as I have given him
Item I give to my Niece Mrs Anne Tregonwell my pockett clocke
Item I give to my daughters Katherine Browne and Elizabeth [-] pound twenty shillings to each of them in full lieu & remembrance of all such further childr ptes and porcons which shall or may be charged challenged or demanded by or in the behalf of them or either of them
Item by this my last will I doe further acknowledge ratifie & confirme one deede of [ ] bearing date the second day of this instant June in this present fifteeth yeere of the Reigne of o’e Sovereigne Lord the Kings Ma’tie that now is made by me unto my Sonne George Browne of my capitall messuage dwellinge howse withall gardens landes tenements & hereditaments thereuto belonging and one little Messuage or Tenement with their & every of their appurtenances in Midhurst aforesaid and all & every he goods utensills & householdstuffs plate money goods & chattells real & personal whatsoever of mee the said John Browne And now I doe further give & bequeath uto my said sonn George Browne All other the goods chattells & money which I shall Die possessed of (and not mentioned in the said Deede and which I shall have right title unto and Together with all Deedes & writings concerning the same And lastly I constitute & make my said sonne George Browne full & sole executor of this my last will & testament In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale the eleventh day of June in the fifteenth yeare of the raigne of O’r Sovereigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France Ireland , King defender of the faith & Anno Dmi 1639
