" Elizabeth was born during colonial times. She married George Spain in Old Swede's Church (Wilmington, DE) November 16, 1793. She had three children over the next five years: Henry (1794); Edward (1796); and Richard (March 17, 1798). Her husband George was a sailmaker in Philadelphia, in business with John Maull near the waterfront. Tragically, a yellow fever swept along the Delaware River between Wilmington and Philadelphia in the summer of 1798, not as terrible as the one in 1793, but nevertheless there was a large loss of life, including George, his wife Elizabeth, and their 4 year old son Henry. Edward and Richard survived and were taken in by Elizabeth's side of the family and raised in Philadelphia, PA. It is unknown where George, Elizabeth, and Henry are buried."
