Biography
Mary, daughter of Henry and Anne Sprott (Sprot) was baptised at Barrow, Shropshire, 5 August 1660. [1]
She was married to John Baldwyn at Westbury, Shropshire, 20 February 1689/90: “Matrimonium solemnizat inter Johannem Bawldin et Mariam Sprott 20mo die.” [2]
She was buried at Ludlow, Shropshire, 21 June 1695 as “Mary wife of Mr. John Baldwyn”. [3]
Her memorial inscription at Ludlow read as follows: “Heare lyeth the Body of Mary The Wife of John Baldwyn of Munslow Gent: & third Daughter of Henry Sprott of Ashmore Brook in the County of Stafford Esq who departed this Life June ye 20th Ano Dom 1695 She had Issue two Sonnes John and Lokier and was a true daughter of the Church of England Here also lyeth the body of Lokier her younger sonn who departed this life May ye 6th Ano Dom 1701”.
