Harry Sprowles was born on 30th March 1922 in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Gordon Sproule and Rita Davis.
On 25th April 1943, aged 21 years, Harry enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the Second World War. He was posted as a Craftsman to the 113th Brigade Workshops, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He was discharged at the cessation of hostilities, on 22nd October 1945. [1]
