Biography
Martha was the daughter of James St. Amand and Elizabeth Juxon. Her grandfather was Sir William Juxon of Little Compton, Warwick.
She married, firstly, Thomas Hesketh, son of Thomas Hesketh and Ann Graham. They had two sons:
- Sir Thomas Hesketh, 1st Bt. b. 21 Jan 1726/27, d. 4 Mar 1778
- Sir Robert Juxon, 2nd Bt. b. 23 Apr 1729, d. 30 Dec 1796 - he would inherit Little Compton from Susanne (Marriott) Fane aka Juxon, widow of Sir William Juxon's son in 1792.
Thomas passed away in 1735.
She married, secondly, William Chetwynd, son of Walter Chetwynd and Mary Sneyd, in 1738. They also had two sons:
- James Chetwynd d. 1 Mar 1774
- Sir George Chetwynd, 1st Bt. b. 26 Jul 1739, d. 24 Mar 1824
She passed away on 1 March 1774 at Brocton Hall, Baswick, Stafford England.
