Morton Henry STANBERG was born on 6 February 1922 in Kilkivan, Queensland, Australia[1]. His parents were John Frederick STANBERG and Rosina STAGER.
23 April 1942, Morton enlisted in the Australian Army for part time service in the Volunteer Defence Corp (VDC); Service Number: Q201136[2][3]. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion VDC (QLD), attained the rank of Private and was discharged on 14 October 1943.
16 December 1943, Morton enlisted in the Australian Army; Service Number; QX58073[4][5]. He was assigned to the 19th Infantry Battalion, attained the rank of Private and was dischaged on 12 September 1947.
Vera Olive SCHILLING and Morton Henry STANBERG were married on 4 March 1948 in Queensland, Australia[6]
He passed away on 5 May 1994 in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia[7] and was buried at the Maryborough Lawn Cemetery[8]
