"William R. STAPLETON, Jr. of High Ridge, Missouri, was born September 17, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, to William R. and Dorothy (nee Brown) Stapleton, and entered into rest, Friday, February 9, 2007, at Jefferson Barracks Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 76 years 4 months and 22 days.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hazel (nee Greber) Stapleton, (Married December 8, 1950), and one (1) grandchild, Eric.
He is survived by seven (7) children, Jeanette (David) McConnell, of St. Louis, Missouri, William (Patty) Stapleton, of High Ridge, Missouri, Barb (J.J.) Weggemann, of Robertsville, Missouri, Donna (Gary) Kilb, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Dotty (Tim) Stabler, of Jennings, Missouri, Raymond Stapleton, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, and Carol (Harvey) Luck, of House Springs, Missouri, eleven (11) grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Bill IV, Nicole, Jason, Jennifer, Karen, Tracy, Jake, Tiffany, and Katelyn, two (2) great-grandchild, Joseph, and Molly, three (3) siblings, Richard ( Bonnie) Stapleton, of , Washington State, Jo (Bill) Smith, of St. Charles, Missouri and Shirley (Jupe) Wilmsmeyer, of St. Charles, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends.
William was in the Marines as a Drill Instructor. He worked as a bricklayer and enjoyed country music albums especially Hank Williams and Marty Robbins. William played cards and horseshoes, was a organic gardener and sold vegetables out of his trunk. He was a member of the High Ridge Elks, High Ridge VFW, Jefferson Eagles and St. Anthony’s of Padua Church in High Ridge. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
