John Pleasance Stirling [sic], son of Samuel & Anne, was baptised 21 Mar 1781 in Blakeney.
When an Inclosure Act was passed for Blakeney in 1820, he was one of the parishioners who received an allotment of land for his common and grazing rights. He sold this in 1824 to the ironmonger who held the adjacent plot, who built a cottage on the site. [1]
In 1833, John Pleasance Starling appears in the Ships Register of Cley as the owner of the 20 ton "Charlotte". Described as a miller and listed as 64 years old (possibly a transcription error for 54), the ship's master was a fisherman called Murrell Baines. [2]
