Biography

Virginia was born in 1834.

1st Marriage

She married Richard E. Shearin, Dec. 24, 1859,Davidson Tennesse.^[1]

Children

Their first child was named Thomas J. Shearin. Born in 1861.North Carolina.This is shown in the 1880 census record. He is said to be step-son to Lafayette Myrick,his mothers second husband.^[2]

The couple have another son Richard Henry Shearin,July 22,1866,Tennessee.^[3]

Richard died in 1866 in Davidson County, Tennessee. Virginia went back to Warren County,North Carolina. After the death of Richard.

Virginia went from giving birth to their second child in 1866,then widowed before March 08,1867,to marrying Lafayette Myrick,the administrator of Richard's will. On March 08,1867. Ann Myrick,Richard Shearin's mother was Aunt to Lafayette ,thru Robert Jesse Myrick who was Ann's brother.

In her will in 1875, Ann R Myrick Shearin left to her three grandchildren, heirs of her son, Richard E. Shearin indicating he had died prior to 1875. The estate settlement of Richard E. Shearin is recorded in Warren County dated in 1867. Lafayette B Myrick was the administrator of Richard's estate.^[4]

Children

Their first child Simon Jessee Myrick was born,May 6,1868,North Carolina.^[6]

The couple have a daughter , Mary Wylene Myrick, Sep. 29,1876, Tennessee.^[7]

Residences

Lafayette 35 and wife Virginia 34 along with son Jesse 12, daughter Mary 3, and steoson Thomas 19 and stepson Richard 13,are in the 1880 ,Grainger,Tennessee census.^[8]

In the 1900 ,Davidson ,Tennessee,the family was as follows, Lafayette 66, Virginia 65,William Miles (son-in-law) 29 and daughter Mary Miles 24.^[9]

Her hubasnd Lafayette dies Oct. 19,1901, Davidson Tennessee. Of malarial fever. States his occupation was famer^[10]

In the 1920 ,Davidson , Tennessee census, Virginia is a widow living in her son Richard's home. She was 85 years old.^[11]

Death

Virginia passed away June 1,1924,Davidson , Tennessee. At the gage of 89.^[12]
